"To end the silly feud between their New York City street newspapers, the New York Press's Jeff Koyen and The L Magazine's Scott Stedman will step into a Brooklyn boxing ring tonight." This made my day. I hope that Stedman kicks Jeff Koyen's ass! I mean, what kind of guy talks about your mom FOR NO REASON and then when you propose a boxing match calls it "collegiate" and suggests a "bare-knuckles streetfight" instead, only to eventually agree (read: wuss out) to the boxing match. Who does he think he is, the editor of VICE? Long live the free press! I got your back, Stedman! Except I'll be busy drinking on the L.E.S.
when I was a kid, I always had to be a 'skier' on halloween, because no matter what, it snowed that night. woohoo!

One of the saddest days I've had all year was the day that Mr. Cash left us. Today, I found out that he left us a little present. Johnny Cash covering Pocahontas. Thank you thank you thank you!!!!

This is very, very exciting. People panned ex-Pavementster Scott Kannberg's (aka Spiral Stairs), Preston School of Industry, but I've always thought they were great. Good, solid rock and roll, yet inventive and new as all get out. And their upcoming album was recorded in Seattle. Spiral--- a Phil Elvrum/Calvin Johnson/K Recs collaboration? Pretty please?
